The newest contest on YouTube is from rock band The Bacon Brothers. The "Bacon Brothers Dance-Off Video Contest" encourages anyone to upload a video of themselves dancing to the band's single "Go My Way (the iPod Song)" from the new album "New Year's Day", available now on iTunes and Amazon. Submit a video of yourself dancing and you may win an iPod Touch or a chance to dance live with The Bacon Brothers and have a clip of your dance moves featured in a new version of the video.
No matter what your dance moves are: the tootsie-roll, the Electric Slide, the Tango, or just shakin' what your mama gave ya', we want to see you getting down. Grab a camera and show us what you got! Kevin and Michael Bacon will pick their favorite entry and will edit portions of the submitted video into a new version of the video for "Go My Way". This video will be featured on http://www.baconbros.com and The Bacon Brothers YouTube channel.
Entering is easy! Simply upload your video, then either make a video response to the contest video or add it to the Bacon Brothers contest group page at: http://www.youtube.com/group/baconbrotherscontest
The Bacon Brothers' gritty form of blues rock and relentless touring continue to earn them die-hard fans around the world. In 2009, the Bacon Brothers will celebrate 14 years of touring, discarding any cynical preconceptions about well-known actors "dabbling" in music. The band features Michael Bacon who has earned numerous awards for his work composing music for movie and television soundtracks, and whose music career dates back to the 60's when he was signed to Columbia Records. He recently scored the soundtrack for "Boy Interrupted" which will be showcased at the Sundance Film Festival. His brother Kevin is currently featured in the Ron Howard movie Frost/Nixon and will star in the upcoming Sundance film Taking Chance.
The Bacon Brothers showcase a very different side of Kevin and Michael. The New Yorker says the Bacon Brothers have a knack for creating "sharply executed rock that has a blue-collar, rootsy edge."
"New Year's Day" is the sixth release from The Bacon Brothers and is available now on iTunes and Amazon. It will be released in stores in March.
