Lakeside Occupational Medical Centers, Inc. (http://www.lakesideoccmed.com), southwest Florida's most comprehensive resource for occupational health services, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of BayCare Health System's occupational medicine clinics in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. This includes two locations: St Anthony's Outpatient Center at Carillon in Pinellas and St Joseph's Hospital in Hillsborough. The effective date of the transition to Lakeside was January 1st.

Denton Crockett, Senior Vice President, BayCare Ambulatory Care stated, "It was our interest to continue to provide our clients the highest quality of care. To this end we considered many options and sought out Lakeside to acquire our occupational medicine clinics." Added Crockett, "Similar to BayCare, Lakeside has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to our Tampa Bay area community for over 30 years."

Lakeside specializes in providing prompt evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses at all of its clinic locations and is recognized by all Florida workers' compensation insurance guarantors and managed care networks. In addition to daily walk in and appointments, this includes 24/7 phone triage with an on-call medical provider. Additional Occupational Health services offered include drug screening, physical exams, exposure monitoring screening & testing, training programs, immunizations, consultations, and on-site staffing.

According to Fred Nussbaum, Lakeside's CEO, "We are delighted to be able to add these two clinics at this time to Lakeside's 'Corridor of Care'. This was an easy decision as we already had tremendous respect for BayCare in general and for their occupational medicine business specifically."

Nussbaum added, "These additional locations will provide all employers the opportunity to now utilize additional locations and services for the convenience of their employees. We continue to be bullish about the future as this further positions Lakeside as the first choice of employers in southwest Florida."
