TwinEngines, the Southeast's only custom software solutions and strategy consulting firm devoted to small/midmarket manufacturing companies, starts the new year working with three new clients. Engineered Fabrics Corporation, Pak-Lite, Inc. and River Supply, Inc. turned to TwinEngines to enhance manufacturing operations and for B2B and B2C eCommerce integrated to their back-office systems.
More than ever, during economic downturns manufacturing companies look to improve efficiencies and cut costs, said Kevin Seefried, founder and President of TwinEngines. TwinEngines' strategic approach and years of experience with manufacturing systems and processes will provide these clients with integrated solutions that increase competiveness and yield real returns on investment.
TwinEngines' work for these three new clients includes strategy, technology assessment, integration with business systems, and web/application development, showcasing the firm's strength in addressing information technology needs inside the manufacturing plant and eBusiness objectives.
Engineered Fabrics selected TwinEngines to replace their current wireless shop floor data collection and time & attendance system with a new generation terminal-based system. In addition, TwinEngines will replace manual scheduling with a custom scheduling system that integrates data from spreadsheets and Oracle and FoxPro databases into a single view.
Located in Rockmart, GA, Engineered Fabrics is a leader in the manufacturing of aircraft fuel tanks, crashworthy, self-sealing technologies, and Electro-Thermal Iceguards®. The company operates a 600,000 square foot facility to manufacture their quality military and commercial products. The touch screen terminals will help create a more efficient way to track labor costs for the workforce of nearly 800 persons.
PLI (Pak-Lite) manufactures parts and components found in thousands of products from hundreds of manufacturers. Their parts help protect automobile passengers and the vehicles they drive, and their packaging and loosefill secures fragile electronic components in shipping. PLI engaged TwinEngines to replace the current manual spreadsheet-based product estimating system with an automated .Net system that integrates with Lilly's Visual ERP and an Oracle database. The solution will increase the accuracy and speed of estimation and reduce the time spent by sales engineers.
River Supply/River Services has been selling marine supplies and services for over 40 years from their locations in Savannah, GA. River Supply/River Services partnered with TwinEngines to help them increase sales and improve services to businesses by creating an eCommerce web site integrated to their Microsoft Great Plains financial system and their fulfillment operations. TwinEngines will develop the strategy for improving the web presence of the sister companies and for the phased implementation plan for B2B and B2C services.
eCommerce improves business performance by expanding the sources of revenue from brick and mortar operations to the web, added Jack Burnett, eBusiness Director at TwinEngines. By offering products and services to a much broader base of consumers and businesses, companies realize additional sales and improve relationships with customers.
