While many companies are putting harmful chemicals into their skin care products without regard for consumers, two business women in Canada have recently launched a website - - which specializes in all natural skin care products to counteract the availability of these commercial body care items.

We use these products ourselves

According to researchers from the Environmental Working Group, a non-profit watchdog organization, there are loopholes in federal law that allows companies to put nearly any ingredient into their personal care products. Because of callousness such as this, many people suffer from harsh reactions to cosmetics which can manifest into hives, welts and general irritation.

Entrepreneurs, Isabelle Patenaude and Guselle St. Jean, decided to combat the numerous chemically-treated skin care products on the market by launching their own website of natural and organic beauty products in December 2008.

"We use these products ourselves," said Patenaude. "In fact, I have children and I was concerned about what was in their soaps, lotions and the everyday products that we use. I couldn't sell bike parts because I'm not familiar with them, but I know about organic skin care."

Between Patenaude and St. Jean, there's a wealth of knowledge about natural products at, which includes body wash, items for men, children and seasonal gifts. Utilizing their collective awareness of using organic body care, the duo have simultaneously launched a blog,

"We're going to talk about how to take care of your skin and what to look for in high quality all-natural products," explained Patenaude.

"Organic products are an important resource to utilize to take care of yourself in harsh environments," said St. Jean. "I think that the blog will show the process on how someone can better themselves with these items."

Though many retailers will sell natural products at a premium price, prices their items at a fair rate, ensuring that every person, individual or a parent, would have access to their unique and soothing line of goods.

"We have well-presented, handmade products," Patenaude said. "We try to price fairly and we want to make sure we're not closing the organic door, as it were, on anybody."

While the site is still new, under Patenaude and St. Jean's direction, it will continue to grow beyond its already impressive catalog, particularly due to the company's familiarity with its items, which is more than what could be said about other manufacturers who will dump anything into their products.

About the Company: is owned and operated by Isabelle Patenaude and Guselle St. Jean. The partners have plans to launch an additional site highlighting organic and fair-trade coffee.
