About "unternimm was."
Microsoft Germany's Founder Initiative called "unternimm was." (http://www.microsoft.de/gruender) was launched in April 2005 and helps accelerate fast-growing and high-potential startup companies. In this context, Microsoft partners with regional and federal governments, private and public startup support initiatives, as well as venture capitalists and other financial institutions to provide effective help.
Microsoft supports startups with both technical guidance (such as support with software architectures) and marketing and sales activities. Selected companies are taken on Microsoft Corporation campus visits to Redmond and Silicon Valley to better explore their opportunities within the U.S. market.
Zimory emerged in November 2007 as a spin-off from the Deutsche Telekom Laboratories. Zimory has backing from well-known investors, T-Venture and the German High-Tech Gründerfonds. The patented Zimory solution enables companies to identify and make better use of free server capacities in data centers -- enabling optimization of infrastructure and resource usage while reducing costs and energy consumption in data centers.
A spin-off of Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, Zimory is at the forefront of Cloud Computing - enabling dynamic, on-demand movement of applications automatically between servers in one or many locations, as well as creating the world's first "marketplace" for computing capacity. Based in Berlin, the company develops a dynamic infrastructure solution for data centers to create a modern Adaptive IT Infrastructure - enabling IT to improve flexibility and reduce operating costs.
