Pearson, the international education and information company, today announced the appointment of Kenneth Stephens as the company's Chief Security Officer (CSO). In this strategic new position, he will ensure the safety and privacy of customer information, the company's assets and products, and proactively implement and oversee corporate procedures that meet the rigorous needs of today's regulatory environment.

Stephens brings to Pearson over twenty years of business, risk, compliance, information security and privacy experience in the global marketplace. He joins the company from Fair Isaac Corporation (FIC), the leading provider of credit scoring, decision management and fraud detection solutions, where he was Director of Global Information Security for the last three years. He also served as Chief Security Officer for the creation of General Electric Healthcare (GEH), GE's second largest division. Previous positions include Director of Security Engineering, Discover Financial; Senior Manager, Information Security, Computer Sciences Corporation; and Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Network Security, Bank One.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Stephens is a Certified Information Systems Professional (CISSP) with specializations as Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP) and Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP). Ken is also is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Information Technology (CIPP/IT).
Stephens will be based in Upper Saddle River, NJ.
