More and more we find that dealers, auctions and carriers all benefit when they work together as a team
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) January 19, 2009
CentralDispatch® (http://www.CentralDispatch.com), the automotive industry's online transportation marketplace, today announced the release of JTracker for Carriers™, the new software application that tightens the vehicle transportation supply chain between dealers, auctions and carriers. This new comprehensive carrier management system enables car carriers to improve operations, and benefits all parties involved through more efficient vehicle transportation, making transport faster, safer and less expensive.
The system lets carriers manage their drivers, trucks, trips, pickups and deliveries in a single online location. A new scheduling feature helps dispatchers optimize routes to minimize mileage between different vehicle pick-up and drop-off locations. JTracker also helps carriers stay fully loaded by making optimal loads easier to identify. The software allows carriers to track vehicles from pre-pick-up to delivery, and to know where vehicles are at all times in between. Additional features include a module to manage the maintenance of trucks and an overweight alert to ensure trucks do not travel overloaded, thereby avoiding costly fines and delays. In effect, the new enhancements make enterprise-level software available to smaller and mid-size operations that often do not have transportation management systems in place, and allow for tighter integration between carriers and their dealer customers.
While the new features will be used by CentralDispatch carrier members, they directly benefit dealers and auctions by increasing the efficiency of vehicle transportation. "More and more we find that dealers, auctions and carriers all benefit when they work together as a team," commented Joe Steinberger, vice president of product and business development for CentralDispatch. "Dealers and auctions want to work with carriers who have best practices in place, and the new system enhancements facilitate this. For example, if we help carriers drive fewer miles on their routes, vehicles will be delivered to the dealership faster. Driving fewer miles will also help make transportation less expensive for everyone involved."
JTracker integrates directly with the online dispatching feature currently available to dealers on CentralDispatch. Carriers that sign up for JTracker go through a series of training sessions with a CentralDispatch consultant. The software, in development for more than two years prior to release, is available for a nominal monthly fee to all CentralDispatch carriers.
