Pennington, NJ (PRWEB) January 21, 2009 -- PD-LD, Inc., the worldwide leader in Volume Bragg Grating® (VBG®) technology, has introduced a Triplexer laser module, intended for use in fiber optic test equipment that requires multiple wavelengths of light. This innovative component provides test equipment manufacturers the ability to offer their customers a more efficient way to test fiber optic installations. The three primary wavelengths of light used in fiber-to-the-home and commercial installations, 1310nm, 1490nm and 1550nm, are all now available in a single convenient package.

These fiber optic active device assemblies are built with three laser diode sources. In PD-LD's Triplexers, the three high reliability DFB semi-conductor lasers are optically coupled to single mode fiber in a manner that ensures stable and repeatable light output over a wide operating temperature range. Having the three wavelengths combined allows the creation of a single port instrument for fiber optic installers, allowing them to test all three wavelengths concurrently and only requiring one optical connection.
