The Passion: Seven Last Words
($9.00) ISBN: 978-0-8059-7687-8, paperback
This thought-provoking book carefully examines the last seven words spoken by Jesus as he is crucified and sheds a new light on these powerful statements.
Throughout the New Testament, there is much written about the words spoken by Jesus during the years of His ministry. They are all relevant and important, of course, and have provided inspiration and guidance to an infinite number of followers. But perhaps none of Jesus' words as quite as relevant and important as those He uttered in His final days.
The Passion: Seven Last Words, by John T. Standifer, carefully examines the final seven "words" spoken by Jesus as He is being crucified. Providing both a biblical and historical context to each phrase, Standifer sheds new light and a greater understanding on these powerful statements, which helped shape an entire religion.
About the Author
John T. Standifer was inspired to write The Passion: Seven Last Words when he heard a sermon on Jesus' statement, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" A member of the First United Methodist Church and a Sunday school teacher, he enjoys reading about the interplay among science, religion, and politics. Standifer resides in west Texas. This is his first published book.
Trauma Down Under
($20.00) ISBN: 978-0-8059-7802-5, paperback
A dream vacation turns into a nightmare when a man is paralyzed in a speedboat accident in this compelling novel.
Andrew Ditchett and his family are looking forward to a long holiday in Australia after a stressful year. Warm weather, sunny skies, and perfect beaches--it was their sweet escape from the dreary weather in England. What could possibly go wrong?
One night, Andrew is involved in a horrific speedboat accident and barely survives. His life quickly unravels before him, a single thread of hope his only chance of survival. Paralyzed and unable to speak, he is defenseless and left only to his thoughts and observations. The path he now faces is long, twisted, and often dangerous. Will Andrew overcome the months of hatred, discrimination, and pain he faces, or will it consume him? Will he be able to turn his upside-down world around?
