Utica College Expands Online Offerings In Justice Studies, Health Services

A sizeable percentage of the US population is expected to work longer hours and spend time agonizing about job security in 2009. During uncertain economic times, online learning from leaders in the field becomes the choice of many looking to differentiate through higher education; therefore, many professionals are pursuing advanced degrees in order to increase their marketability despite a tough economy.

Utica College, a comprehensive, independent college based in upstate central New York, offers a number of options to these individuals. The launch of its new website, promotes the addition of six online programs in justice studies and a new health services suite, supplementing a variety of existing options for professionals seeking advanced degrees.

Introduced throughout 2008, the latest degree programs include: RN-BS Nursing; Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy; MS-Healthcare Administration; Post Professional Masters in Occupational Therapy; Certificate in Gerontology, and; MS in Criminal Justice Administration.

"It also highlights interesting faculty and curriculum enhancements in addition to social sharing tools that meet the needs of marketing our new programs."

Utica's wide spectrum of online courses, first launched in 2004, offers students a number of accredited bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in healthcare, justice studies, and economic crime prevention. Online programs are designed with the same admission standards and rigorous curriculum as their campus counterparts but are accessible to students across the country.

Featuring a variety of unique advantages, including shorter on campus residencies for working students, professional networking opportunities and credentialed faculty well-known throughout their fields, each program boasts a distinctive curriculum compared to other online institutions.
