We've been sponsoring networking lounges at industry events for a few years
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) January 21, 2009
The Web Host Industry Review (http://www.thewhir.com) the publication of record for the hosting business, is excited to be hosting the inaugural event in its WHIR Networking Events series of hosting industry community events planned for 2009.
The Toronto event will take place Thursday, January 29, 2009 and will kick off a series of events throughout the year that will hit major cities all over North America, including San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington DC.
WHIR Networking Events are designed as opportunities for hosting professionals to meet and mingle with individuals in related businesses - to foster new business relationships and to help create a sense of local community in a business with a significant feeling of fraternity.
"We've been sponsoring networking lounges at industry events for a few years," says Stephen Mayhew, publisher of the WHIR, "and we've come to realize that people value that face-to-face interaction as much as any other aspect of the big hosting conferences. We wanted to find a way to provide our community of readers with a way to experience that without having to spend the time and money traveling to a major event."
WHIR Networking Events will bring together web hosting company executives, hosting resellers, IT consultants and suppliers of hosting-related services to generate business and partnership opportunities, and to help develop local connections in a mostly-online business community.
Because the WHIR Networking Events are supported by the efforts of sponsors - GigaPark (http://mbc-va.com), CacheFly (http://www.cachefly.com) and OpenSRS (http://opensrs.com), in the case in the Toronto event - they are free to attend, and food and drinks will be provided to attendees for free.
The January 29 event will take place at stylish downtown Toronto lounge Maro, located in the Liberty Village neighborhood, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The WHIR editorial and marketing staff will be on hand, and representatives from many prominent hosting companies have already registered to attend.
More information about the Toronto event, the venue and other WHIR networking events is available at the WHIR's events website, whirevents.com. Registration is available online, and anyone interested in attending should RSVP as soon as possible, as space is limited.
Companies interested in information about sponsoring upcoming events can also find information at the http://www.whirevents.com site.
