PerTrac Mobile 2.0 was developed for Blackberry devices using the Pyxis Mobile software platform. As a companion application to PerTrac CMS, PerTrac Mobile 2.0 requires PerTrac CMS version 6.0 or later to function. PerTrac Mobile 2.0 software is installed both on a firm's central server and on the user's Blackberry device(s). The Blackberry application is installed wirelessly from the server, requiring no complicated installation steps on the part of the end user.
PerTrac Mobile 2.0 is highly secure. No data is stored directly on the Blackberry device; all data is transmitted wirelessly on demand between the device and the user's server. A user ID and the Blackberry PIN (personal identification number) are required to use PerTrac Mobile 2.0, so only the Blackberry owner has access to the firm's sensitive data. The Blackberry device can even be remotely disabled from the user's office, providing an added layer of protection should it be lost.
