The Pyzdek Institute has announced that Thomas Pyzdek, President of the Institute and author of the Six Sigma Handbook, will speak at the ASQ 2009 Lean Six Sigma Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday, March 2. Pyzdek's topic is "Leading Lean Six Sigma Organizations." While there are many organizations training Six Sigma Black Belts and Six Sigma Green Belts, Pyzdek maintains that this will produce only limited results. "It's not enough to have Lean Six Sigma practiced at the operations level," says Pyzdek. "The entire organization must be dedicated to achieving excellence for every stakeholder. This will only be possible if the organization's leaders understand the principles involved and use the Six Sigma approach and philosophy to lead." Pyzdek's presentation will cover an approach for engaging leaders using a new approach to lead that makes use of numerous weapons from the Lean Six Sigma arsenal.
