Greggs live on CODA's Neon finance system

CODA Group, the finance software specialist, today announced that Greggs plc has successfully gone live on its latest finance system, Neon, which now accounts for 1,400 shops across the UK.

Greggs plc is the UK's leading baker retailer, specialising in sandwiches, savouries and other baker-fresh food on the go.

The CODA software replaces 10 regional finance system implementations previously in place and has enabled the company to move to a centralised shared service accounting model. The Financials, purchasing, invoice matching and billing software is integrated with Greggs' merchandising and EPoS systems to further automate accounting processes and to ensure longer term efficiencies whilst enabling the production of both divisional and group accounts more effectively.

"This is a major milestone in our finance modernisation programme and it has enabled us to move from a quarterly reporting cycle to reporting monthly with the ability to analyse more detailed information from each outlet relating to monthly profitability," said Lee Massingham, Finance Systems Manager at Greggs.

Greggs is among a growing number of customers to have implemented the latest version of CODA's Financials software. Its inherent flexibility, simple design and user friendly screens have helped encourage user adoption. Neon is the largest and most significant product release in CODA's history and will deliver increased efficiency and consistency to Gregg's finance team, saving time and money and providing a technical platform that will support the business well into the future.

In addition to version 11 of Financials, Greggs is also benefiting from an integrated purchasing solution that applies the latest collaborative technologies to offer maximum efficiency and ease of use from initial request for goods through to payment. CODA's Invoice Matching engine enables users to match high volumes of invoices or credit notes. It covers all aspects of tying up received invoices to the relevant goods received notes, return documents and purchase orders as well as the individual lines within them.
