Computer Lab International (CLI), the thin client customization specialists, and VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program member, today announced VMware View support on their MT3500x and ST6500x thin clients.

Placentia, CA (PRWEB) January 26, 2009 -- Computer Lab International (CLI), the thin client customization specialists, and VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program member, today announced VMware View support on their MT3500x and ST6500x thin clients. The MT3500x thin client offers a flexible Windows XP Embedded solution on a mini form factor; while the ST6500x is an XP Embedded DUAL-Video ready, high performance terminal. VMware provides TAP program members with tools to develop products that are complementary to VMware virtualization software and help deliver high-value solutions to our joint customers.

"Computer Lab International's MT3500x and ST6500x effectively leverage VMware virtualization to solve issues of business continuity, security as well as desktop virtualization enabling customers to take advantage of the centralized management and administration of the desktop as well TCO benefits of the CLI devices," said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliances programs at VMware. "We are pleased that Computer Lab International is helping to deliver added value to customers with innovative technology combined with the significant business benefits of VMware virtualization, including lower capital and operating expenses, business continuity, strengthened security and reduced energy consumption."

"It was critical that we establish formal compatibility with VMware view for two primary reasons," says Jason McGeough, Director of Product Development for CLI. "First off, at CLI the voice of the customer rings the loudest, and it was critical for us to react to the request of our customer base to formalize our compatibility on the VMware HCL. Second, we need to ensure that we are in position to go to market with VMware View on the desktop, capitalizing on fantastic VMware View features like linked clones and the desktop composer, These features will continue to drive the virtual desktop by reducing the amount of backend hardware required to deploy a virtual desktop infrastructure."

With more than 900 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
