Wind River Spas / Spa Exchange warns that other hot tub manufacturers improper electric conditions can cause overheating and equipment failure.
Wind River Spas, also known as Spa Exchange is notifying consumers that all Hot Tubs and Spas must meet the requirements of the National Electric Code (NEC) and any applicable state or local building code. Hot Tubs and Spas which do not meet these code requirements may pose
a risk of overheating the equipment cavity and causing an equipment malfunctions.
What You Should Do: Wind River Spas / Spa Exchange Inc. recommends that you stop using Hot tubs and Spas which do not meet these code requirements immediately and return them to the place of purchase.
All Hot Tubs and Spas manufactured by Wind River Spas, also known as Spa Exchange Hot Tubs and Spas meet the requirements of the National Electric Code (NEC) and surpass any applicable state or local building code.

All connections must be made in accordance with the wiring diagram found on the inside of the control box cover. Connections must be made with copper connections only - do not use aluminum wiring with this system. All conductors, circuit breakers and/or fuses must be sized in accordance to the total amperage load as specified.
PLEASE NOTE: If installed in the United States, the electrical wiring of the spa must meet the requirements of the National Electric Code (NEC) and any applicable state or local building codes.

- Rated 240V, 60 Hz, 50A, #6 copper wire, 4 wires total (2 hots, 1 neutral and 1 ground)
- Fuse or circuit breaker size: 50 amp or 60 amp (some Wind River Spas require a 60 amp GFCI breaker)
- All spas require a GFCI protected unit
This equipment is designed to operate an 60Hz alternating current only at a voltage of 240 ( or -). Units to be operated at 240V must have all connections made by a qualified electrician in accordance with all electric codes in effect at the time of installation. All 240V units require four wires (line 1, line 2, neutral and ground). Refer to the label at the terminal block.
