He's just a trail horse
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) January 29, 2009
ACTHA, a trail horse registry putting on competitive trail riding competitions and registering all trail horses that compete, is showing a 50% increase in both numbers of registrants and number of rides in 2009 vs 2008.
"Horse lovers are passionate about their sports, and trail riding is one of the fastest growing sports in the USA", states Karen VanGetson Co-Founder of ACTHA©.
"ACTHA markets its Competitive Trail Challenges (CTC's ©) via Affiliates across the USA. An Affiliate can be an individual, equine establishment but most typically is a club or organization of some type. The club or organization puts on a CTC's with the help of ACTHA and raises monies for their cause. Others such as a boarding or training facility add it to their agendas as a way to attract more business. Whereas dedicated individuals use it to assist themselves with the cost of owning horses.
"The rides usually cover 6 miles with 6 obstacles, all individually judged. ACTHA has developed fool proof software, DVD's and written guidelines making it easy for a club to host a ride. Our state of the art web site (http://www.actha.us) takes all entries, tabulates points and literally handles almost all of the administrative tasks. Typically a fund raising venue can raise $2,000- $4,000 by putting on a one day event," according to Carrie Scrima ACTHA's other Co-Founder.
"Most importantly we have established a venue giving the great American Trail Horse the recognition and registry they deserve. Every horse that competes in our CTC's become registered in ACTHA's registry and additional points are given based upon their performance. This adds to the value of the horse and lets both buyers and sellers ascertain the animal's abilities on the trail.
This country was built on the back of a horse and it irked us to no end to hear people say "He's just a trail horse". We now say "They are not JUST trail horses anymore!" Horses can win money and wonderful prizes as they prove their trail abilities for judges while on a 6 mile course. It's a great fun family sport and a wonderful way to spend the day with friends, both human and 4 legged."
ACTHA has pledged to donate a substantial part of their earnings to the cause of humane treatment of horses. Besides taking on initiatives ourselves we are committed to financially contribute to established horse organizations like the various horse rescue entities across the USA. Our goal is to eventually raise $1 million per year for worthy horse related causes.
