The first annual "Lawyers' Marketing Quotes" contest - http://www.closersgroup.com/about/submit-quotes/ - sponsored by the Closers Group LLC, was won by John Neidecker of Steptoe & Johnson. A contribution in his name was made to the Children's Cancer Research Fund.

Mr. Neidecker's entry was a quote from a senior partner at another firm, "I don't like what I'm hearing; it's beginning to feel as though this is a business."

Allan Colman, CEO of the Closers Group, has been collecting comments about law firm marketing he has heard directly from in-house counsel and outside lawyers for more than 20 years.
