Facility becomes the only Academy-accredited inpatient pain program in Arizona

Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) January 29, 2009 -- The Sierra Tucson Pain Management Program has been awarded Pain Program Accreditation by the American Academy of Pain Management (the Academy), the nation's largest interdisciplinary professional pain management organization, which serves clinicians through education and advocacy. As part of the accreditation process, Sierra Tucson's Pain Management Program underwent a rigorous process in which the Academy surveyor evaluated the facility based on criteria such as its commitment to quality care, concern for patients, and the use of outcomes measurement for continuous improvement.

According to the surveyor, Dr. Lawrence Short, "The Academy has awarded the Sierra Tucson Pain Management Program a three-year accreditation as an Inpatient Major Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Pain Management Program.
