The FIDI Global Alliance has appointed Boris A. Populoh as new Managing Director

2009 marks a beginning of a new chapter in the nearly 60 year history of the FIDI Global Alliance, with the appointment of Mr. Boris A. Populoh as the organizations new Managing Director. Mr. Populoh, who began his tenure with FIDI on January 2, joins FIDI from the International Association of Movers (formerly HHGFAA) where he was Director of Programs and Education.

Boris A. Populoh brings extensive household goods industry experience, as well as a wide range of association management knowledge with him to his new position. In his role at IAM, Boris led a number of important initiatives, including drafting and implementing the Receivables Protection Program, a bankruptcy and protection plan for IAM members and developing an industry-wide numeric code codification standard under the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO). Prior to this, Boris worked at the American Moving and Storage Association, as Vice President for International Affairs, where he managed the RIM quality program.

Boris holds a B.A in International Diplomacy from American University in Washington D.C. and an M.A. in Transportation Policy, Operations and Logistics Management from the George Mason University in Virginia. He is an avid cyclist and is married with two children.
