The Price of the New Frugality
Plano, TX (Vocus) January 27, 2009
In a recent article published on Conde Nast Portfolio.com, “The Price of the New Frugality,” Valerie Seckler explores the changes in the apparel industry during the new economic atmosphere.
In the article Ms Seckler writes, “Stores catering to the affluent, such as Neiman Marcus and Brooks Brothers, have reported significant declines in holiday business versus a year ago, underscoring that the high-end sector is no longer insulated from the wounded economy.”
To Diana Kinsey, founder of TheUberShop.com this is good news. Her retail outlets on ebay, Amazon, and her website, all offer brand name and designer label clothing at deeply discounted prices.
Says Ms Kinsey, “I have always offered beautiful designer clothing and brand name apparel at great discounts, and recently I have been able to offer even better prices to my customers with more product variety.”
The Uber Shop offers discount Ecko clothing, Ralph Lauren discount clothing, Polo, Claiborne, Nautica, Ecko, Levis, Dockers, Fossil, Alfani, and so many more. Product variety is almost endless with jeans, dress shirts, slacks, casual shorts, leather purses, accessories, winter coats, and more.
In her article, Ms Seckler quotes a new study by Young & Rubicam Inc. advertising, “price triggered purchases of 80 percent of 2,500 brands people bought from 2004 through the first quarter of 2008, well before onset of the economic crisis last fall.”
“At The Uber Shop we know families have always looked at prices before buying jeans for the teenagers, women’s purses, handbags, and dad’s dress shirts for work. We have worked for years to give that brand quality with better pricing for family budgets, and now we can offer the same great designer wear at even better prices.” comments Ms Kinsey.
The new consumer frugality being seen in the retail industry is not new to The Uber Shop. The Uber Shop has always worked to pair quality apparel and accessories with affordable prices to help the moms buy clothing for the entire family and stay within the clothing budget.
