Toledo Area Entertainers Compete in Los Angeles, Take Home Awards

Twelve Toledo Ohio area actors, models, singers and dancers brought home over sixty awards from the semi-annual International Modeling and Talent Association's (IMTA) event held in Los Angeles California.

Twelve Toledo Ohio area actors, models, singers and dancers brought home over sixty awards from the semi-annual International Modeling and Talent Association's (IMTA) event held in Los Angeles California. IMTA is an organization comprised of leading modeling and talent training centers engaged in the professional promotion of the fashion and talent industry.

More then 450 top fashion and talent agents, casting directors and industry professionals participated as judges and scouts in the weeklong international event. Men, women and children of all ages competed in various modeling and acting competitions. The twelve talented students from StarBound NYC, ranging in age from 4 to 29, competed and earned over sixty awards. StarBound's IMTA's participants included Ohio residents Brittany Beery, Paige Holt and John Chambers (Perrysburg), Morgan Phillips, Mackenzi Hawk and Roslayn Cooper (Toledo), Mara Lyman (Holland), Katie Samson (Gibsonburgh), Jay Grayson (Bowling Green), Jordan Bloomer (Rossford), Natalia Chapman (Fremont) and a Michigan resident, Michael Solak of Carleton.

Top honors from the StarBound contingent went to 22-year old Rosalyn Cooper, winner of female "Actor of the Year" for her age group. Rosalyn also took first place in the "TV Real People" competition. Nine-year-old Mara Lyman won two competitions, "Ready for My Close-up" and "TV Real People" and gathered second place awards for "TV Beauty" and for "Young Miss Actor of the Year." Brittany Beery, 13, earned first place in "Ready for My Close-up" and second place awards for "Entertainment Host" and for her monologue. John Chambers, 21, won his competition for "Ready for My Close-up." Eighteen-year-old Morgan Phillips took home second place awards for "Entertainment Host," "TV Real People," and in the dance competition. By the end of the convention, Brittany Beery and Morgan Phillips were included in the top five of most sought after talent at the event.

They have also been featured in national magazines such as GQ, Vogue, Seventeen, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan.
