Providence, RI (PRWEB) January 29, 2009
This February, QuickWhatsUp.com and Tazza Caffe in Providence are exposing the weird and wild range of talented artists in Rhode Island. On Thursday, February 5th, the downcity restaurant and bar will launch the Going Going Gong! Competition. Artists from all walks of life, including burlesque dancers, magicians, musicians, circus performers and more will be given five minutes each to strut their stuff on stage in the hopes of capturing the $500 cash prize - at the risk of being gonged off stage if the judges deem them unworthy. The goal of the contest is to expose up and coming talent. The panel of judges includes representatives from a broad cross-section of Rhode Island's entertainment industry: CW-28, 95.5 WBRU, IndieArts RI, the Rhode Island Modeling Agency, the Rhode Island International Film Festival, Connect Providence, the Providence Latin Film Festival, Everything Events, WRIK Entertainment and more.
The competition will last six weeks, with the final round held on Friday, March 13th. Rhode Island comedian Patrick Austin will emcee the affair. Artists are encouraged to enter at http://www.TazzaGong.com. The competition is free for spectators. Additional representatives from the media who wish to be celebrity judges are encouraged to e-mail QuickWhatsUp.com founder Seth Resler.
Tazza Caffe is located 150 Westminster Street in downtown Providence.
