As a new mother, I was looking for a baby monitor that would provide a large, clear view of my baby while keeping the required equipment to a minimum

Derry, N.H. (PRWEB) January 29, 2009

Sharx™ Security, a leading brand of wireless cameras, today announced the availability of a new generation of wireless IP cameras. With the ability to display live streaming video on computers as well as cell phones, the Sharx VIPcella™ SCNC2606 and SCNC2607 allows entirely new applications, such as baby monitoring, with iPhones or other cell phones.

The exceptionally sharp video quality is highly appealing to new user bases, like teenagers interested in video blogging and live event sharing. In addition, traditional security-oriented users can realize significant cost savings by using the VIPcella's motion detection emails instead of fee-based monitoring services.

Also new with the VIPcella series of Sharx IP cameras is the "moonlight mode" color night vision which can show high quality video at night with minimal lighting, such as dimly lit street scenes or parking lots viewed through a window. The Sharx VIPcella model SCNC2606 has an infrared filter for rich, saturated natural colors during daytime and the VIPcella-IR model SCNC2607 adds a powerful automatic infrared light source for black and white night vision up to 20 feet in absolute, total darkness with no visible light.

Like all Sharx IP cameras the VIPcella series has both wired and wireless network connectivity. Completely self-contained with its own built-in Web server, the VIPcella lets users view video from a home network (LAN) or from computers and cell phones on the Internet, without dependence on any third party Web sites or subscriptions. For mobile phones that do not support video, users can see automatically refreshing JPEG images or emails with picture attachments.
"The Sharx SCNC2607 is amazing and perfect for our use as our baby cam because it produces a great picture during the day and absolutely awesome images at night when there is no light in the baby's room" said Sharx customer Andy Tryba. "We love the quality of the video and audio and are thrilled with the camera," Tryba said.
Like all Sharx™ cameras, this newest mobile platform model offers endless uses in residential and commercial security including remote home monitoring of premises, children and pets, as well as office and business surveillance, all at a low price point and in an easy to use, fully inclusive kit including an illustrated mini-tutorial for easy setup.

When used as a baby monitor, the VIPcella helps reduce clutter and improves portability by eliminating the traditional display device. "As a new mother, I was looking for a baby monitor that would provide a large, clear view of my baby while keeping the required equipment to a minimum," said Deb Longua-Zamero. "I have been extremely impressed with the VIPcella™ with infrared and its exceptional night vision capabilities. I was also equally impressed with Sharx customer service and technical support, which enabled me to get my new camera up and running quickly," Longua-Zamero said.

The Sharx VIPcella series features multiple simultaneous video streams which allow different users to access the camera with different choices of video quality and network bandwidth. Supported formats include MPEG4, Motion JPEG, JPEG, and 3GPP. Audio is supported with a built-in high sensitivity microphone. The very high MPEG4 video performance of up to 30 fps allows smooth, natural motion even at the highest full color resolution of 640x480 pixels with audio, and for mobile applications the data rate can be reduced down to 16kbps for best compatibility.

VIPcella cameras are compatible with PCs running any version of XP or Vista, as well as Macintosh and Linux platforms and media players such as Quicktime and VideoLan (VLC). One-click audio/video recording is supported on PCs with Internet Explorer, and an optional PC software program for recording up to 4 cameras simultaneously is also included.

Sharx IP cameras are shipped with international power supplies for worldwide compatibility. Also included in the box is an attractive, color-matched desktop stand which can be used as a wall or ceiling mount. The cameras can also be used with standard tripods.

All Sharx™ cameras are currently available through Amazon.com and a growing retail network. Both USA based and international distributor and reseller inquiries are invited.
