Animal lover, Robie Leffler, started CelebrateOurPets.com as a way for people who've lost their pets to memorialize them. Recently, Leffler has added a new blog to her site and has plans to change her current web store down the road.

"I love animals," stated Robie Leffler, "and I felt inspired to do something in honor of our pets."

Leffler, an independent business owner, is the mastermind behind http://www.CelebrateOurPets.com, a site that specializes in pet memorials such as urns, engraved rocks, garden memorials and jewelry.

"For me, it's about celebrating and honoring our pets," said Leffler, "as opposed to mourning and grieving. "It's about celebrating and embracing the joy and the love of having had that pet in our lives as we go through the process of grieving our loss."

The memorials that are featured on Celebrate Our Pets are all graceful and tasteful works of art, which will invoke the best memories possible. Though the site launched in September 2008, Leffler looks to re-launch the site in the near future, which will include new products.

"I'm looking for some quality bio-degradable urns," she said. "My intent is for the site to grow into a full-service site that will include options such as virtual memorial services, as well as additional resources - such as toys, pet clothes and pet houses - items that go with having and caring for our pets."

For the moment, Leffler has added a new blog, http://www.HonorYourPetsBlog.com, to accompany her site.

"The blog will present news stories about pets and some of the wonderful things they've done for people. We'll also have posts about the different ways that people handle their grief and the services that are available for honoring pets such as prayers and blessings," she said. "I'd also look to add personal heartwarming stories for people to share with each other."

While some people may not necessarily agree with pet memorials, and perhaps take to burying them in a backyard, or letting someone else take care of the remains, Leffler believes that the urns and assorted products of her site are a vital part of the grieving and healing process for pet lovers including the memorializing of pets to honor the unconditional love and loyalty they give us.

"When our pets die or are euthanized, sometimes their bodies just go away," she said. "These memorials ensure that they stay in our lives - in our hearts and our minds - for years to come. Having a physical representation of that is very important and acknowledges not only to ourselves but to others how much pets are truly valued as part of a family."
