Kevin Hinson has been branding communities, destinations, hotels, and tourism-related products for almost two decades. With a Fine Arts degree from Middle Tennessee State University, Kevin has guided brand development for national companies like The Greenbrier Resort, Gaylord Hotels, and Bridgestone Golf. Kevin's keen eye for detail and creative angles has succeeded for smaller, regional destinations including The Beaches of South Walton and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. His creative work and direction have garnered accolades at regional, national, and international levels. His awards include The One Show, Best of Show Addy Awards, London International Advertising Awards, and the Andy Awards.
Kevin's experience as a Creative Director, Art Director, and Designer at ad agencies and design firms has given him the opportunity to work long-term with many destination brands. Creating, protecting, and then guiding the evolution of a brand is a charge and achievement of which Kevin is most proud. Like with The Beaches of South Walton with which he worked for eight years, Kevin's expertise and creativity keeps brands relevant and ahead of imitators.
For North Star, Kevin will lead the strategic development of all creative expressions for community brands. With a strong voice at the strategy table, Kevin identifies creative implementations that work for the disparate entities involved across a community. He understands that a brand is more than a logo and line; it is a community or destination's reputation.
