We had no idea there would be this much interest in such a short period of time. We envisioned Canvas as a nice little add-on to our website, but now it's developing into a business of its own, with huge potential.

C28, a Christian clothing company, has introduced C28 Canvas (c28.com/canvas), an innovative program allowing customers to design, submit, and vote on t-shirts. The designs that score the highest are manufactured and sold in a limited edition run exclusively through C28.
Since the launch date in October 2008, C28 Canvas has received over 175,000 unique visitors who have scored and submitted designs. The community consists of over 5,500 members, and has received 1,200 t-shirt submissions from over 500 different artists. Over 300,000 unique votes have been cast.
"We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to Canvas," says Justin Palmer, C28's eCommerce manager, "We had no idea there would be this much interest in such a short period of time. We envisioned Canvas as a nice little add-on to our website, but now it's developing into a business of its own, with huge potential."
Palmer continues, "The Canvas program is a perfect answer to requests we've had since opening our business 8 years ago. Over the years, our customers have asked how they can submit designs to be sold in our stores. Because our clothing line is very artistic, we tend to attract a customer base which consists of many artists who would love to see their designs printed and sold. The Canvas program gives artists a possible launching pad and expands the depth of C28's products as well."
C28 is constantly expanding its ministry as a way to reach out to people with God's message of love. With designs that are based on scripture, the clothing, cross jewelry and accessories are used as an expression of faith as well as a tool for sharing the gospel with people around the world. C28 hopes the Canvas program will enable them to reach and minister to a larger audience.
