Twelve-year-old Charlotte Ramsey needs help finishing her story "Orangina's Travels" in time for her best friend Sophie's visit from France. The best original ending will be published in the back of a new Beacon Street Girls book due in bookstores everywhere in the fall.

"We're continually impressed with the writing prowess demonstrated by the members of our online community," said Addie Swartz, CEO of B*tween Productions. "While we are supplying a beginning for this story, every day girls kick off new conversations or their own stories in our online club. We've seen everything from a princess who happened to be a pickle to virtual boarding schools with girls picking out roommates and role playing different situations. Especially popular are the collaborative writing projects where one girl picks up where another has left off."

The BSG Young Authors Contest takes a story credited to one of the Beacon Street Girls' main characters, Charlotte Ramsey, and invites members of the online club to supply an original 600 word (or less) ending. Entries must be received by February 23, 2009. Complete rules can be found on the website.

The BSG editorial team, in partnership with publisher Simon & Schuster, will review the entries and pick one to be included in the back of the book extras when the book is printed in the fall. Back of the book special features range from "Healthy You" diet and exercise tips in the back of book #6, Lake Rescue, to codes for free Marty$Money, the online club's virtual currency, to the book club discussion questions found in every book. Many book extras are also available online, including recipes, lifestyle and exercise tips.
