Our winning patient education content entry was among more than 100 entries judged by a panel of health information experts

iHealthSpot received a Merit Award for Patient Education for Physician Websites. The iHealthSpot patient education library is an extensive library of more than 1,800 conditions and treatments covering over 40 medical specialties. The content includes detailed illustrations and the company recently introduced Interactive videos with 3D animations for orthopedics and physical therapy using the most detailed 3D model of the human anatomy available today. Currently, iHealthspot is developing new animations across several other specialties including pain management, dentistry and cosmetic surgery.

iHealthSpot includes its library of patient education based on specialty in every physician practice website it builds. This gives doctors hundreds of pages of additional content related to their area of expertise and allows patients to interact with the content within the physician's own website rather than linking to an outside source.

The content development team is spearheaded by renowned orthopedic surgeon Steve Meadows, MD, Chief Medical Officer and editorial development is led by Dr. Mary Car-Blanchard, Senior Medical Author. Dr. Car-Blanchard is a nationally recognized medical author with extensive background in medical writing and public health education. Michael Johnson a seasoned multimedia expert serves as Creative Director responsible for all health related multi-media development including 2D and 3D illustration and animation and video production and editing.

"We were delighted to participate in the World Wide Web Health Awards Program and were honored to be selected as a winner," said Dr. Meadows. "Our winning patient education content entry was among more than 100 entries judged by a panel of health information experts," he said.

The awards program is coordinated by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials.
