How to Catch the Flu
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) February 3, 2009
Nicholson Kovac has been honored with a BtoB Best of 2008 Creative award for the 3M Medical Diagnostics "How to Catch the Flu" print campaign at the BtoB awards ceremony in New York.
BtoB's Best of 2008 is an exclusive national recognition of the best business-to-business marketing communications creative work with only one winner given in thirteen broad marketing communications categories. BtoB Magazine reaches more than 45,000 senior marketing executives throughout the U.S.
The "How to Catch the Flu" campaign, which launched in July 2008, was noted for its powerful visuals and revealing headlines. Each print ad features large electron microscope visuals of the influenza virus, which immediately tell the medical community that these ads are about flu detection. The headlines, "How dare you call me a cold" and "I am a master of disguise. Just try to catch me," are designed to give the flu virus a personality and to keep the reader engaged. The campaign also features a call to action, asking the readers to visit a trade show booth, Web site and toll-free phone number.
"Our creative team saw the images of the influenza virus as natural works of art," said Jack Swearengin, vice president, director of creative services at Nicholson Kovac. "These images and headlines work well together because we were able to connect with the readers while delivering 3M's value proposition."
Nicholson Kovac also received a runner-up award for the FMC "Usual Suspects" radio campaign, which utilizes comedy to deliver messages about the company's Authority Assist herbicide to soybean farmers.
"No matter what the challenge might be, our brilliant team has a deep understanding of our clients, their industries and their customers as well as the talent and ability to deliver ingenious work that provides the results our clients want," said Pete Kovac, the agency's president and CEO.
