ThoughtWorks®, the pioneering Agile IT consultancy and software company, today announced the availability of Cruise 1.2, an upgrade to its Continuous Integration and Release Management tool. Cruise 1.2 provides enhanced support for dependencies, more powerful grid functionality, and better integration, including support for Mingle® and other project management tools.

Cruise 1.2 makes it possible to treat dependencies like source control to provide a much better level of traceability and gives visibility into exactly which version of an upstream pipeline triggered a build. This latest release also enables users to pull out information such as test coverage from reports and store them in its database as properties. Cruise 1.2 gives you the capability to link story numbers in a version control check-in to story tracking programs like Mingle. With Cruise 1.2, users can focus on only those modules that their pipeline is interested in, any of which can be in a different subversion repository. Cruise gives teams more flexibility in the way they organize their source code repository.

"Large teams often struggle to get their code integrated, deployed, tested and released. Cruise 1.2's advanced dependency management and artifacts repository enable the creation of smaller, more efficient teams and remove waste in the release process. And, our improved integration makes it easy for project managers to gather actionable information to achieve higher quality code at a lower cost. We've designed Cruise to enable teams to save money by accelerating throughput and finding defects early, making it the perfect tool for lean times," said Jez Humble, Cruise Product Manager at ThoughtWorks.

Cruise is a part of ThoughtWorks' Application Lifecycle Management Suite which also includes Twist (Collaborative Testing tool), and ThoughtWorks' flagship product, Mingle (Agile Project Management).

Cruise 1.2 is available immediately for purchase under both perpetual and annual subscription licenses. In addition, community licenses are available for not-for-profit institutions, academic use, and open-source projects. For a free trial visit: http://www.thoughtworks.com/cruise
