UK based mobile service Treasuremytext brings SMS archiving to the T-Mobile G1 phone and is one of five winners in the Amsterdam Android DevCamp Challenge.

Treasuremytext is a web service used by texters the world over to archive and share their SMS messages. Treasuremytext for Android provides a seamless solution to archiving SMS messages on the Web from a T-Mobile G1. The Treasuremytext app enables the archiving of all messages automatically to the Treasuremytext service for the first time. Once a G1 user has installed and configured the app it works in the background automatically creating a copy of each SMS in the service. Once there users can then search, print, organise and share these messages.

Android, the new mobile operating system created by Google and the Open Handset Alliance enables independent developers to create applications that mobile owners can download from the new Android Marketplace. The T-Mobile G1 is dubbed 'everything you love about the web on a phone' offering instant access to Google - and to a marketplace of applications created by independent developers.

Recently an International mobile developer community has been treated to a succession of Android related events in Amsterdam; namely Android DevCamp and the Android DevCamp Developer Challenge created by Peter Robinett and the DevCamp team and sponsored by T-Mobile. The challenge rewarded 5 winners with Android related prizes ranging from G1 phones to a trip to San Francisco. Winners were announced at a press event organised by T-Mobile in Amsterdam on 29th January 2009.

"We're pleased to be one of the five winners. We've staked our Treasuremytext flag on the Android map. Treasuremytext is now extremely well placed for growth with apps now for iPhone and Android and we're excited to be very much a part of these new game changing mobile platforms" says Paul Stringer Treasuremytext's CTO.

The overall winner of the challenge was an app called "Meter Maid" by Martin Koel en Alida Roskam which makes paying for parking around Amsterdam and other places simple via a G1 or other Android phone.

The Treasuremytext app will be made available via the android Marketplace Q1 2009. Information on these winning apps, including Treasuremytext for the T-Mobile G1 is available on the T-Mobile site: http://www.t-mobile.nl/g1/features.html
