Kognito, a leading developer of learning simulations and games, announced today that for the second consecutive year it has been selected by Bersin & Associates to receive the Learning Leader Award. This year, Kognito received the award for The Investigator, an online simulation to train HR managers to effectively conduct workplace investigations.

Kognito Interactive, a leading developer of learning simulations and games in New York City, announced today that it has received Bersin & Associates' 2008 Learning Leader Award for its workplace investigations training simulation, The Investigator.

The Investigator is a four-hour web-based training simulation providing hands-on practice for human resource professionals in conducting effective, thorough, and fair workplace investigations. In the simulation, learners assume the role of a director of human resources and investigate a sexual harassment claim from start to finish. Throughout the simulation, learners engage in simulated conversations where they must interview relevant parties such as the claimant and witnesses--all of whom have unique personalities, motivations, and body language--evaluate evidence, and finally make a case conclusion. These interactive interviews were created using Kognito's patent-pending human-interaction simulation platform. A demonstration of the simulation is available at http://www.kognito.com/investigator.

The Bersin & Associates Learning Leaders Program is designed to recognize innovation and excellence in critical areas of corporate training. The program recognizes organizations like Kognito that have developed and implemented effective and efficient approaches to employee learning and development, resulting in significant business improvement. Past Learning Leaders have included Microsoft, Accenture, and IBM.

"We are proud to be recognized by Bersin & Associates for our continued efforts to push the boundaries of game technology and interactive learning in driving behavioral change and increased productivity for our clients," said Kognito CEO Ron Goldman. "The Investigator is a great example of how much can be achieved through this medium--how practice in risk-free virtual environments can build skills and confidence in handling challenging real-life situations that involve interpersonal communication and decision-making skills."

The Investigator was created by Kognito in partnership with Curiale Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP, a leading labor and employment law firm based in California (http://www.cdhklaw.com). The product has already been adopted by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. to train HR managers in hundreds of its properties worldwide. Starwood chose The Investigator as a cost-effective solution to replace a classroom workshop it previously conducted. As a result, Starwood achieved substantial cost reduction as well as the ability to rapidly reach all learners and provide a practice-based learning experience.

This is Kognito's second Learning Leading Award in two years. Kognito won in 2007 for it patent-pending human-interaction simulation platform and its application in a police leadership simulation.

Kognito creates games and simulations where learners engage in simulated conversations with virtual characters who posses their own emotions and memory. As a result, learners develop their abilities to better manage and communicate with others. By engaging in valuable practice opportunities within risk-free environments, learners are better equipped to handle similar situations in real life. Located in NYC, Kognito's award-winning simulations concentrate on the areas of leadership, management, customer service, and behavioral health. For more information, visit http://www.kognito.com.
