Rivulet Communications Patent Enables Automatic Provisioning on IP and Ethernet Networks

Rivulet Communications today announced that it has been awarded patent #7,468,948 for its IP (Internet Protocol) network engineering system. This system patent, titled "Empirical Scheduling of Network Packets Using Coarse and Fine Testing Periods," enables network engineers to load new high-performance services on IP and Ethernet networks without time-consuming network engineering analysis and design. Rivulet's Empirical Scheduling system can, in only seconds, automatically achieve optimum performance levels that previously required difficult network analysis.

Rivulet's Empirical Scheduling system can, in only seconds, automatically achieve optimum performance levels that previously required difficult network analysis.

Rivulet's breakthrough packet scheduling technology, known as Dynamic Synchronization Technology ™ (DST), enables guaranteed delivery of real-time packets. The system operates on ordinary standards-based routers and switches. Rivulet's technology prevents packets from arriving simultaneously in router queues, thus eliminating unnecessary loss, jitter and latency. Legacy approaches to solving this problem either have been too rigid, too difficult to engineer and maintain, or too expensive, requiring purpose-built packet switching equipment. The discovery system covered by the new patent lies at the heart of this powerful new technology.
