Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) February 6, 2009
In preparation for worldwide exposure, Purdy's Chocolates has a new online presence, thanks to Vancouver-based Hot Tomali Communications. The http://www.purdys.com website has been refreshed with an updated look-and-feel, a robust online shopping engine, and streamlined navigation to simplify customers' experience. Purdy's Chocolates, Western Canada's most popular chocolate brand, teamed up with Rogers' Chocolates to become the official co-licensees of all Vancouver 2010 boxed chocolates at the upcoming Winter Games.
Hot Tomali was approached by Purdy's Chocolates in 2008 to build a new website that was on par with other major retailers in the e-commerce realm. In addition to providing a stable e-commerce environment, Hot Tomali leveraged the Purdy's brand by highlighting the company's innovation, creativity and expertise in the world of chocolate.
Hot Tomali's first step was to identify the best backend solution to allow for a secure .NET online shopping cart and easy-to-use content management system. AbleCommerce was chosen, due in part to the stability of the system as well as its easily customizable and modular interface. Customer orders are processed via the E-xact payment gateway.
The new website was heavily integrated with a complex analytics configuration, consisting of e-commerce tracking, custom conversion calculators, tracking filters and fully automated Google Analytics and AdWords reporting. The details of the set-up are so advanced that Hot Tomali has submitted a related case study to the Google Analytics team for review.
The content management system integrated into the backend of the website allows for Purdy's administrators to easily edit and replace content, images and product libraries without the help of Hot Tomali. "We're all about empowering our clients to take ownership of their websites," says Thomas Stringham, President and Creative Director of Hot Tomali. "If we can deliver a website to our clients that allows them to keep it current and up to date themselves, it saves them time and money, and allows them to keep their customer base informed in real time."
