SLAPPA Distribution, maker of protective high-quality cases and bags for digital gear, announced plans to offer "bulk-quantity" discounts on its websites. Beginning today, the company will provide 15% discounts for orders of 2 or more products, and 20% discounts for orders of 4 or more products.

Online Director of Operations Chris Araldi explains this is part of the companies' continued effort to "get behind the customer". "Anyone who knows SLAPPA, knows that we work hard to take customer service to a whole new level, and we do everything we can to make our customers 1000% happy," says Araldi. "Most SLAPPA customers buy 3 or more products at a time, so we figured that with the tough economy we should take steps to help out the 85% of SLAPPA customers who are already buying in bulk."

The decision to offer bulk discounts really was driven by our desire to get behind SLAPPA customers. The proof is in our numbers. Our sales for 2008 were up by more than 60%, and our sales for January 2009 were up 65% from January 2008. We are experiencing very steady growth without heavy discounting. This bulk-pricing offer is just one of the steps we are taking to get behind our customers to help them keep more dollars in their pockets. In addition to the bulk-pricing, we have strengthened our VIP program and we have extended our product warranty."

Whether or not Araldi is to be believed, this is a great opportunity to pick up SLAPPA's patented and award winning products at a steep discount. Araldi explains that this is the strategy for 2009, but the company does plan to run this as a limited campaign. Our plan is to run this program through 2009 and in 2010 go back to our regular pricing model. I know the experts out there say 'once you lower prices you cannot raise them back up' but we believe that customers will recognize this as a short-term effort to help them when times are tough, and as has been the case for 5 years, anyone who purchases SLAPPA products will immediately recognize that, even at our regular prices, SLAPPA products are a steal -- especially when compared to their alternatives."
