The new QEI solution is based on the successful and proven ePAQ-9100 Multifunction Gateway, which is part of QEI's line of Sentinel-21 Substation and Feeder Automation products. The solution has undergone rigorous testing to ensure that it meets all of ISO New England's Communication Front End (CFE) interface qualifications regarding compliance and functionality. QEI will be working with New England ISO participants to address their individual requirements regarding customers' Communication Front End (CFE) interface specifications.
The new solution restores full productivity to many Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) and other communication media. With a 32-bit processor and flexible communication architecture, the ePAQ-9100 Multifunction Gateway makes a master function SCADA work with new electronic communication devices. Additionally, the new solution supports many Master Station and IED protocols including the DNP3 Level 2.
