Dr. Toy Radio Brings More Reliable Advice to Parents

Early childhood experts join forces to inform parents of best practices

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 8, 2009 -- Today the BAM Radio Network (BRN), a joint project of Moving & Learning and Jackstreet Media, announced the launch of Dr. Toy Radio, a new resource for parents visiting the Dr. Toy web site (www.drtoy.com), an award-winning guide that provides timely and professional advice to parents on the best in toys and educational products. Dr. Toy Radio will expand the scope of advice available to parents who rely on the guide as a trusted resource. Dr. Toy Radio will nanocast BRN's premier program, "Body, Mind and Child" (www.bodymindandchild.com), hosted by Rae Pica, a 30-year veteran in the field of early childhood education. The program offers insightful discussions with the nation's leading child development experts on issues parents and teachers care about most.

"Dr. Auerbach, aka Dr. Toy, is well known and respected in the early childhood field," said Pica. "I'm thrilled that Body, Mind and Child will be a part of the wealth of information available to parents at her web site."

"BAM's lively discussion helps listeners to gain new information in a timely and well proven way," said Stevanne Auerbach. "I hope parents will listen and learn with Rae Pica and her guests on Dr. Toy Radio."

About Dr. Toy:
Dr. Toy's Guide is a free public service provided by The Institute for Childhood Resources, a not-for-profit organization. Dr. Toy provides children, parents, teachers, grandparents and other adults with important year-round information about children's toys and products. Each year the site recognizes the best educational and developmentally appropriate products including toys, dolls, games, puzzles, books, software, CDs, audio and video discs and tapes, creative materials, construction toys, technology and more.

Dr. Toy, Stevanne Auerbach, PhD, has been for many years one of the nation's and world's leading experts on play, toys, and children's products. With 30 years of direct experience, Dr. Auerbach includes educationally oriented, developmental and skill building products from the best large and small companies in her four annual award programs. Many parents, teachers and toy buyers use Dr. Toy's guidance in making selections.

About BAM Radio Network:
The BAM Radio Network was launched to address the severe imbalance in parenting practices caused by the "commercialization of parenting" and the emphasis on intellectual development that excludes the critical role of the mind/body connection in early childhood. Created by leading early childhood experts, the programming challenges the popular genre of parenting notions that has given rise to commercial products like Baby Einstein, Brainy Baby and lapware, all of which claim to accelerate a child's mental development in the face of science that suggests otherwise. The network is a joint venture between New Hampshire-based Moving & Learning and Los Angeles-based Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. The program is produced by Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Errol Smith and distributed through the Affiliate Nanocasting Network.
