Access Florida Finance Corporation Announces Two New Members of its Board of Directors

Two new appointments of three year terms will assist the organization in carrying out its mission of Economic Development

Tallahassee, Florida (PRWEB) February 8, 2009 -- Access Florida Finance Corporation is proud to announce two new members to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Carlton Robinson is the President of the First Coast African American Chamber of Commerce in Jacksonville. Dr. Robinson also is a senior researcher at the George Washington Carver Humanitarian Institute and a research and development partner for Human Capital Management LLC. He was also instrumental in developing the Virtual Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Robinson's research interests include the exploration of social and cultural factors in business using formal logic. These factors impact both management and entrepreneurship through workforce and supplier diversity programs and processes. Dr. Robinson believes that understanding the wide range of attribution errors entrapped within deductive approaches to business can lead to discovery.

Dr. Robinson also is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, First Coast Technical College, Haven Hospice Advisory Board and the Florida Black Chamber of Commerce.

Suzanne Specht is a full time Certified Business Analyst and Assistant Director for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University. She has been with Florida Gulf Coast University since 1997. Suzanne has financial experience and expertise gained from her career as a loan officer with Barnett and SouthTrust Banks. This banking background and Suzanne's ability as a really good listener are two key traits that make Suzanne an effective business analyst. Suzanne recently was awarded the Excalibur Award from the Florida Small Business Development Center Network and represented Florida as the Star Performer in 2004.

Also, Suzanne is a Certified FastTrac Facilitator with the Kauffman Foundation and recently passed a professional Testing Corporation Class and exam to be designated as a Certified Business Communicator. Suzanne is a tireless networker and works diligently to provide sound and knowledgeable business information for SBDC Clients.

Mark Scovera, President of Access Florida Finance Corporation, said, "I am very excited about the addition of Carlton and Suzanne to our Board. Their experience, combined with the experience of our existing members gives us the strength and balance at the top of our organation to better promote Economic Development in the State of Florida."

Access Florida Finance Corporation (http://www.AccessFloridaFinance.com) has been providing direct loans, loan guarantees, venture capital and technical assistance to black and minority owned Florida businesses since 1988.
