Computer Lab International (CLI), the thin client customization specialists, and a VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program member, today announced that it would embed patented Connector ID technology from vmSight in select CLI thin clients. Connector ID technology gives virtual networks the same capability that "caller ID" gives phone networks, allowing user and devices to be tracked as they access virtualized systems. Combined with the vmSight product suite, the embedded solution allows administrators to continuously monitor end-to-end performance for virtualized desktops and applications. The detailed tracking information is also useful to validate security policies for virtualized systems.

Starting immediately, CLI will incorporate vmSight Connector ID on specific thin clients. When activated along with the vmSight product suite, administrators are able to track key performance and end user experience indicators for each individual access to virtualized desktops and applications. vmSight supports VMware View (VDI), Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, as well as other leading virtualization platforms. Using the combination of CLI thin clients and vmSight, administrators gain unparalleled visibility into the end user experience in the virtualized environment.

"We are witnessing a rapid growth in the use of thin clients for virtualized desktops and applications," stated Jason McGeough, Director of Product Development at CLI. "With vmSight's Connector ID, our CLI thin clients now offer the most advanced technology for administrators to monitor user activity and performance when they access the virtual environment."

"We are pleased to be working with CLI, one of the most innovative thin client vendors," said Jonathan Alexander, President and co-founder of vmSight. "With CLI thin clients and embedded Connector ID technology, administrators get full visibility into user activity, which is useful not only for performance management, but also for security validation, and even billing and chargeback."

CLI thin clients are used by organizations large and small to lower the costs of desktop computing while ensuring a rich end user experience. vmSight is the leader in end user experience assurance for virtualized desktops and applications with solutions that are VMware-certified and Citrix Ready. Working together, CLI and vmSight are helping increase the manageability and lower costs for virtualized desktops and applications.
