In a UK economy that has been surrounded with doom and gloom of late, Wickford based ECommerce retailer Ink and Media Ltd have helped offer some hope for young Essex students.
Working closely with the local further education college SEEVIC, Ink and Media have offered opportunities for the college's IT students to learn about selling online, and already two of the participants from the scheme have joined the company.
The students get first hand experience of the day-to-day running of an ECommerce company and learn about stock control and sales. They also engage in website development, design and marketing.
Managing Director, Peter Warrior, remarked: "The current economic climate makes it imperative that we as business owners provide training opportunities for young people to ensure they are able to acquire up to date skills and either find employment opportunities or have a greater understanding of business before heading on to further education"
One of the students, Alex McIntosh, commented:: "As a result of working with Ink & Media I feel I can approach the future or any future studies I undertake with more confidence. It's been a useful opportunity and I'm glad an ECommerce company like Ink and Media could help me".
As a result of the success of the partnership with SEEVIC Peter Warrior of Ink and Media Ltd http://www.inkandmedialtd.co.uk has been approached to speak to BTEC First students at SEEVIC about the industry as part of the college's 'Doing Business Online' module.
