Evonik Cyro LLC, a subsidiary of Evonik Degussa Corporation, introduces ACRYLITE® Acrylic Rods and Tubes. Delivering optical clarity and brilliance, high durability, and light weight, ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes are cost-effective alternatives in a broad spectrum of lighting, Point-of-Purchase (P-O-P) and food applications.
ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes are 11 times more break resistant than glass, yet they convey an equally attractive look and feel. They are made from non-yellowing acrylic and come with a 10-year discoloration warranty, making them well suited for a variety of long-term designs and applications. ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes offer an exceptional transparent jewel-like finish while ACRYLITE Satin Ice Tubes have a frosted, translucent surface that diffuses light, hides fingerprints and resists abrasion.
The high optical clarity and weather resistance of ACRYLITE Tubes provide exceptional properties for outdoor lighting applications. ACRYLITE Satin Ice Tubes diffuse light and distribute it evenly while concealing the light source within the tube. Extremely energy efficient, the tubes can create a greater luminous intensity from an internal light source of the same power, or deliver the same luminosity at a lower energy cost compared to alternative materials. In addition, the surface of the ACRYLITE Satin Ice tube hides fingerprints and scratches for enhanced service life and less maintenance.
Excellent optical clarity and superior brilliance allow for a clear view of details, making ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes well suited for store fixtures and P-O-P displays. Since they are half the weight of glass and more durable, ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes, which can serve as stanchions, columns, containers and dispensers, allow displays to have a high degree of elegance with a much lower risk of breakage.
ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes are regulated for food contact under 21CFR177.1010. CYRO's colorless materials have been tested and meet the requirements of these regulations for all use conditions up to and including hot filled or pasteurized above 150°F (ie. Condition C, 21FR176.170 Table 2) for all food types, except those containing more than 8% alcohol.
ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes are available in a variety of sizes. Tubes range from 0.197" (5 mm) OD to 20" (500 mm) OD while rods range from .078" (2 mm) to 2.00" (50 mm). The superior brilliance and minimal extrusion lines of ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes are unlike competitive extruded acrylic products that have noticeable distortion, die lines and extrusion lines. ACRYLITE Rods and Tubes are also easily bonded to ACRYLITE® acrylic sheet products using CYRO's Acrifix specialty bonding agents.
