While many travel companies are reducing their offerings, iTrek will announce major new initiatives at this years LA Times' Travel and Adventure Show.

iTrekNepal, an adventure travel company which started operations in 2007, announced today that they will unveil plans for expansion into other markets throughout Asia, at the LA Times' Travel & Adventure Show to be held February 14th and 15th at the LA Convention Center.

Company CEO, Leigh Wilson, who is currently in Nepal readying the staff for spring 2009, said, "Due to our great success here in Nepal over the past two years we have recently received a sizable amount of venture funding to launch operations in other parts of the world."

The move may come as a surprise to many in the industry. This year has seen some long established adventure travel companies either close or curtail their businesses due to the prevailing economic conditions.

iTrek spokesperson Andy Leonard said, "Our focus for the past two years has been on high quality, authentic adventures in Nepal. This has allowed us to build a loyal following of adventurous travelers who want a great trip at a good value."

The company notes that as other adventure travel companies cancel some of the trips they had been offering, travelers who have already made plans and even plane reservations have sought out iTrekNepal to accommodate them on short notice. Because iTrekNepal manages its own ground operations in Nepal they can respond quickly to manage last minute bookings and custom itineraries without compromising service quality.

iTrekAsia plans to announce a selection of over 140 trips that include trekking, rafting, biking, kayaking and cultural tours on its Website at http://itrekasia.com
