Photo Contest Emphasizes Long View in Life and Career

The "Blue Skies" photo contest will give one winner a trip for two anywhere in America. The winning photograph will best demonstrate the ability to take a step back from the rigors of everyday life.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 12, 2009 -- The "Blue Skies" photo contest will give one winner a trip for two anywhere in America. The winning photograph will best demonstrate the ability to take a step back from the rigors of everyday life.

The contest celebrates the release of the new book, Luck By Design: Certain Success in an Uncertain World by Richard E. Goldman. Goldman is widely recognized as the marketing mastermind of Men's Wearhouse. He created the iconic "You'll Love the Way You Look, I Guarantee It" message and his careful nurturing of the MW brand helped the company expand across the country. Goldman's experience in building a national chain from the ground up comes across here as more than just a how-to manual on success; his story inspires and motivates.

In the book, Goldman writes: "Daydreaming is an important part of your creative process; allow yourself to do it often. Here's a good way to encourage yourself to daydream: every day, spend at least five minutes looking at something that's several miles away, or even better, looking into infinity. Most of our day is spent looking at objects that are merely a few feet in front of us - like computer screens and cell phones. For many of us, the farthest that we might be looking over the course of the day is the distance that we look while we're driving. "

That is the driving force behind the photo contest. Entrants can upload photographs of a favorite place to go for relaxation and meditation on the future. This "long view" is crucial, Goldman says, to maintain order in both your personal and professional life.

The photographs will be posted to the Luck By Design blog, where visitors can vote on their favorites via comments. The ten entries with the most comments will become semifinalists, from which Richard Goldman will select the grand prize winner.

The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip for two anywhere in the continental United States, up to a maximum value of $4,700. Nine runners-up will receive signed copies of Luck By Design. The contest runs from now until April 1, 2009. Participants can enter their photos here at RichardEGoldman.com.
