After 25 years in the wholesale fashion jewelry trade, sales were dropping dramatically due to major Hotel & Casino corporate decisions to lay off experienced buyers and hiring untrained replacements that usually do not bother (or don't know how!) to read vendors' historical sales reports to review and understand past buying patterns and merchandise performance: this results in even higher losses on both sides.

Ms. De Chiricco, a savvy business woman, saw the changes coming and is steering the reins towards an affordable yet glamorous site: where customers will pay only a fraction of the highway robbery prices many retailers charge.

She claims she has seen previously successful retail stores in the casinos change their look and make dramatic changes, only to see their sales decline. Such decisions are made by corporate pencil pushers for the only purpose of justifying their job and paycheck. The cost of that faulty strategy is the inevitable elimination of experienced buyers and their replacements buying more and more from China, which leaves the manufacturing business in Providence, Rhode Island, a virtual ghost town, with nothing left to do but to close down.
