Reality TV show drama unfolds in Emerald Spa hot tub

Where do most reality TV cast members go for late-night trysts, gossip swapping, stress relief, and serious partying? It's the spa, of course. What happens in the hot tub can be the high point of any episode.

Now, Emerald Spa Corporation of Kentwood, MI, is getting in on the reality show action. For the 21st season of MTV's popular Real World series, an Emerald Spa (http://www.emeraldspa.com) is in the house and the housemates are in the spa.

The premise of Real World is a group of diverse, young strangers living together for several months as cameras record their relationships, conflicts, romances, and careers. For the new season, set in Brooklyn, the residence is a funky, industrial space on Pier 41 in Red Hook with picture-postcard views of the East River and the Statue of Liberty. At the center of its nautical-themed deck is a fully appointed Emerald Spa Manor 870, spacious enough to accommodate all eight of the show's colorful cast members.

The Manor 870 features Emerald's signature Lucite® acrylic shell in a telegenic charcoal color called Pearl Shadow. Set in a gray Durabiltâ„¢ synthetic-wood cabinet, it's equipped with three high-speed pumps, a MassageAirâ„¢ system that mixes water and pressurized air to produce the ultimate hydrotherapy massage, 70 adjustable jets, plus extras like Intensive Neck Therapy, a Turbo Jet, a Tsunami Jet, and a Waterfall.

Real World: Brooklyn currently airs Wednesday night on MTV. As the inevitable drama and comedy plays out over the next few weeks, audiences may see some entertaining moments taking place in the Emerald Spa.
