Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 19, 2009
The Gleacher Center of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business was named the best conference center in Illinois, according to readers of Illinois Meetings and Events magazine. Runners up for the 2008 award were McCormick Place in Chicago and Eaglewood Resort and Spa in Itasca.
The Gleacher Center at 450 N. Cityfront Plaza Drive between Tribune Tower and the Chicago River, is a unique facility that is home to the Chicago Booth part-time MBA programs and non-degree executive education programs, the Graham School of General Studies, and is available for rental for executive conferences and events.
"With 50,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space, the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center offers a variety of conference room configurations," Illinois Meetings and Events magazine said in announcing the award in its spring 2009 issue.
"The center has meeting rooms, flexible breakout rooms, reception and dining lounges and a dedicated 3,000-square-foot executive meeting room for groups of up to 350. The site's amphitheaters with built-in LCD projectors are a popular draw, as is the on-site food service by Wolfgang Puck Catering."
"We are very proud to be chosen as the best conference center in Illinois," said Colin Greene, director of the Gleacher Conference Center. "Our goal is to provide space and a level of service that rivals Chicago's best hotels," he said.
