KRESS Employment Screening announced today a plan to offer clients access at no cost to the Consent Based Social Security Verification (CBSV) service and the E-Verify program offered by the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) respectively with the purchase of a standard background check package. These programs give employers an opportunity to match social security numbers, names, and dates of birth and, even, indicate if an employee is eligible for employment in the US.

Why is KRESS offering these services for free? "We feel that hiring decisions are so critical at this point because of the slowing economy", said Jeff Rackler, President of KRESS. "They need a break and we want to give it to them. Most businesses aren't getting a stimulus package. We'll run a background check and include these additional services at no cost to add some much needed value to the process."

The E-Verify program is a post-employment program that will indicate whether or not the employee is eligible for employment in the US", stated Mr. Rackler. KRESS uses the CBSV search as a pre-screening tool to identify those job applicants that are submitting social security numbers with errors or that do not match SSA records. The DHS website (http://www.dhs.gov) states, "E-Verify is an essential tool for employers committed to maintaining a legal workforce, and the number of registered employers is growing by over 1,000 per week." KRESS uses E-Verify in a post-employment process to help clients fulfill their I9 obligations.

"If an employer uses both of these services, the chances of someone slipping through the cracks with some type of erroneous information is minimal at best. What we're offering here is a chance to dramatically improve the accuracy of the data submitted by job applicants and thereby create a more efficient hiring process" said Rackler.
