Travel Insured International, a leader in the travel insurance industry, celebrates this month the 15th anniversary of the company's launch of business operations.

Travel Insured International, a leader in the travel insurance industry, celebrates this month the 15th anniversary of the company's launch of business operations. The company was formerly the "Travel Insurance Division" of The Travelers. It was acquired by Peter Gehris, a former executive at The Travelers, and launched on Feb. 1, 1994 as a privately-capitalized company staffed by former Travelers employees.

"Travel Insured has grown and prospered because of the dedication and professionalism of its people, and the strong relationships formed with its travel partners. We remain dedicated to delivering superior service and products to our customers, and are energized by today's challenges and opportunities", Gehris said. In 15 years Travel Insured has grown to become the largest privately-held travel protection administrator in the U.S., with more than 5,000 travel-selling partners, including retailers, wholesalers and specialty travel organizations. One of the strengths of Travel Insured is its independence from ownership ties or financial affiliations to underwriters or other financial companies with non-travel entities. Thanks to private ownership, Travel Insured can select financial partners based on their quality of support to Travel Insured's business. At Travel Insured, travel insurance is our only business.

Travel Insured International operates a complete service organization in our E. Hartford, CT, headquarters, including customer service, claims, accounting, information technology, sales, and marketing.    All are dedicated solely to Travel Insured's business as direct employees, and none are outside contractors. All of them follow a mandate to distinguish themselves from the competition by delivering uncompromising, superior customer service to both travel sellers and travelers.

The company operates one of the largest sales support teams in the U.S., with regionally-based Sales Managers (RSMs) calling on agents and readily accessible in their home regions. Their work is supported by industry-leading information technology resources dedicated to helping agents improve their sales results. Our desktop technology tools are purpose-built toward increasing our partners' profitability with both insurance commission earnings growth and a heightened percentage of repeat clients who add insurance when booking travel through their agencies.
