World renowned artist Synthia SAINT JAMES will be presented by the Women's City Club of Pasadena in celebration of Women's History Month and her 60th birthday and 40th anniversary as a professional artist and author.

The Women's City Club of Pasadena Presents The Art of Synthia SAINT JAMES.

The Women's City Club of Pasadena proudly presents world renowned artist and author Synthia SAINT JAMES, in celebration of Women's History Month, on March 8, 2009 from 1-5pm.

This exhibition and sale of her fine art reproductions and originals will include a "Conversation with the Artist" from 1:30-2pm. Ms. SAINT JAMES will be unveiling her newly released limited edition giclee on canvas "Butterflies Dream", which will be available for purchase at a reduced pre-publication price for that day only.

A Champagne Brunch will precede the SAINT JAMES reception from 11am-1pm. The cost is $20 for the brunch and reservations must be made in advance by calling 626.796.0560 or emailing wccpas (at) sbcglobal (dot) net.

Synthia SAINT JAMES, international award winning artist and designer of the first United States Postal Stamp for the Kwanzaa holiday, has to date written and or illustrated 13 children's picture books, 3 poetry and prose books, 4 children's activity books, a cookbook, and a postcard book. She is the recipient of The Woman of the Year Award for the 26th Senate District, and she has garnered numerous other awards including a Parent's Choice Silver Honor for her book Sunday, a Coretta Scott King Honor Award for illustrating Neeny Coming…Neeny Going, and an Oppenheim Gold Award for the book To Dinner For Dinner, which she illustrated.

Synthia SAINT JAMES celebrated her 60th birthday and is celebrating her 40th anniversary as a professional artist in 2009.

According to SAINT JAMES her first birthday present was her fantastic licensing agreement with Barnes and Noble, the nation's largest chain of bookstores. Merchandise featuring her artwork is in their 800 stores and on their website in February in celebration of Black History Month.

New to her palette is her Tuscany Series, inspired by a recent visit to this beautiful region in Italy. To date the suite includes "A Taste of Tuscany", "Tuscan Sunflowers", "Cypress Grove", and "Autumn Leaves".

She has created a very special painting celebrating the hope that our new president elect, Barack Obama, has already instilled in the people of the entire world entitled "Fire Rainbow Obama". Limited edition giclees on canvas are now available.

She traveled to the Turks and Caicos Islands, to celebrate her birthday and for inspiration for a new series of seascapes, which will be added to her ever expanding Seascapes Revisited Series, inspired by her many trips to the Caribbean, Hawaiian, Tahitian and Fijian islands.

SAINT JAMES is currently booking speaking engagements, appearances and exhibitions for 2009 a special year for us all.
